The Gift of PeacePeace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” — John 14:27

When we accepted Jesus into our hearts, we accepted His gifts. Two gifts were left to us: peace and the Holy Spirit. Both of these gifts reside within us.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” — James 1:17 (KJV)

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” — Luke 11:13 (KJV)

Peace comes from true knowledge of who we are and where we stand. If we are standing with God as best as we are able; then, He is working in us, bringing about His promises.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3

He has promised us His “good and perfect gifts.” These gifts come from Him, “the Father of lights.” If He is living within us, then all these gifts are also within us. It is simply a matter of knowing they are there and reaching for them.

He has also promised us the Holy Spirit, living within us to guide us in every aspect of our lives. If we know that God is guiding us in every aspect of our lives, then we should have perfect peace, because God has everything in control. He can see ahead and all around. He knows what He is doing.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” — John 14:26

He has promised us peace. And this peace is perfect. It passes all understanding. And this peace is within us. If our world is in chaos, it is because we have not gone within. When there is peace within, the outside will conform.
