Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye! America is still free!

Now that sounds rather strange doesn’t it? Why of course America is still free. Why shouldn’t it be?

To answer that question, let’s make a few stops back in history. Our first stop is in 1602. The first organized colony was Plymouth, Massachusetts. This colony was made up of 102 colonists. Of this number 35 were members of the English Separatist Church, who had left England to escape persecution. As time went on more and more people came to America to escape persecution, religious persecution.

Our next stop is 1776, that famous year in history when America announced her freedom from English rule and taxes. This was done with that well known document called the Declaration of Independence. Fifty-six men signed that document, pledging their lives, their fortunes and their honor. And before it was over, they all paid the price for our freedom!

Our next stop is now, 1990. If you look back at what we were and where we are now, you will probably agree that we are still a free country.

However, if you look carefully, you will see that that freedom is slowly slipping out of our hands.

America, and the world, is full of crime, drugs, corruption in business and government and sexual behavior of the worst kind. And our environment is so polluted we can hardly live in it.

Do you feel free to walk the streets at night? Do you feel free to leave your house and your car unlocked? The answer is no! But why not, we live in a free country!

Sure we have great technology and our standard of living is so much better than our forefathers, but some of that same technology is destroying us and our world.

God gave us the greatest gift we could ever hope to receive; the gift of free will! We have been free for a long time. Jesus Christ died on the cross to give us freedom. Our soldiers have fought and died in countless wars so that we can have freedom.

This country was founded on God principles. The people who came here, for the most part came for religious reasons.

The real secret to America’s fantastic success is that America was a God-fearing nation.

However, today, I am not too sure that this is the case. We have allowed the banning of prayer in our schools, we are taking down crosses from public buildings, we can no longer have nativity scenes in front of the court house. The list goes on and on. And as it does, so goes our freedom.

Don’t think I am down on America, because I am not. I think America is the greatest country in the world and I love her! My heart breaks as I see her being destroyed, not by some foreign government, but from within our own borders. The darkness that has destroyed many civilizations in the past is hard at work on the United States of America.

However, it is not too late, America. Pray with all your heart and ask God to turn the tide of darkness that seeks to destroy us all. Fight for your freedom, just as our forefathers did. Fight against crime, against drugs and against darkness in high places.

We at The Christ Light Institute, Inc. will be praying for America. We hope you are too. God bless you and God bless America!
