God, like the eagle, flies above the storm, and He has often offered and even requested for us to join Him. Like a mother eagle, He takes us from the nest and drops us from our safe aerie in the heavens and lets us fall that we may learn to fly. We cry and flap our wings and He must catch us and drop us again. If we would follow His example and spread our wings, rejoicing in no ground beneath our feet and no warm nest to slumber longer within, then we too should come up above and fly with God.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” — Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
“Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.” — Exodus 19:4 (KJV)
