“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” Psalm 46:1-2
Rest in Me
Who could possibly be knocking on the door so late at night? The skies outside were wild and stormy, and no wayfarer should be on the dangerous roads.
When the innkeeper opened the door, however, a stranger dressed in travel clothes and holding a bundle in his arms stood waiting, face determined and staff in hand.
“Come in,” the innkeeper told him. “Are you all right?”
“Yes, thank you.” The stranger came inside and sat down gratefully. He carefully, gently unwrapped the bundle in his arms.
The innkeeper was surprised to see a little girl, sound asleep in perfect trust.
