The Father’s Arms

The King was holding audience in His throne room when a loud sound was heard as the doors opened, and a small child ran across the open space with light feet. Past the waiting courtiers and advisers and straight to her Father’s lap, which she promptly clambered into.

She had a skinned knee and a dirty dress in the King’s court, but He did not rebuke her rude entry.

He reached for her with arms of love and tucked her close, His healing touch on her injured knee, and He continued to hold court with His daughter in His arms.
