Destroyed in Prophecy. Lost to History. Ressurected. Israel.
A first century ship, identical to the boat Jesus sailed upon with Peter, was destroyed in the same years that Israel was destroyed by the Romans, but found 2000 years later in a series of astonishing events that even scientists called a miracle. Mirroring Israel’s own story of devastation and survival, the boat discovered by fishermen would rise against all odds, and float upon the Sea of Galilee once more as the oldest surviving freshwater boat in the world.
Featuring commentary from some of the great theologians of our day including Franklin Graham, Joel Rosenberg, Jay Sekulow, Skip Hietzig, Chuck Smith and more, Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy tells the astounding rebirth of Israel through the discovery of this ancient and unlikely artifact found under the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
This is a fascinating documentary about the discovery of an amazing artifact found in the area of the Sea of Galilee. The film chronicles the story of the oldest surviving freshwater boat in the world, from its discovery, to its difficult excavation, and to its almost impossible preservation and display in the land of Israel.
The film draws parallels between the rebirth of Israel in the last century and the discovery of this artifact, as well as covers portions of history and Biblical prophecy. However, the strongest element of the story to me was the miraculous journey piece of ancient history went through in order to survive impossible odds over the years of time to its final resting place in Israel.
There is nothing objectionable that I can recall in this film, and it is an interesting and educational story full of history.
